"Megan Deliberto gives the reader happy images of friendship, joy, and Bruno's gratitude for Anthony's efforts. It conveys the themes of friendship, emotion, and gratitude. Bruno’s best birthday is an enjoyable read for kids and adults alike; it reminds us of the power of true relationships and the joy of being with someone special on their birthday." Haiqa Munir, Readers' Favorite

"In a K-8 school, it can be difficult to have an author visit, especially one who can engage and create enthusiasm at all grade levels. Megan takes on this challenge with gusto, entertaining all students, from our kindergartners to our middle schoolers, with her fun picture books and presentations. Our students truly loved her visit and are looking forward to more books by Megan!"A. Walls, Librarian at Rockdale Elementary School
"Garbage Squirrel by Megan Deliberto is a gentle picture book that feels warm and engaging. Although it is written for kids, it shows how hard it can be for anyone (children and adults) to be alone or misunderstood. The writing is simple and easy for all readers to follow. Tiemoko Sylla’s illustrations make the zoo and the incredible animal cast bright and lively. Gary’s growth is touching to watch, and Anthony and Bruno are examples of kindness and forgiveness. The story does a great job of teaching readers about empathy and the importance of helping someone who is struggling to survive or even fit in. It is very similar to classic children’s books that teach lessons through caring and understanding. Families, teachers, and kids who enjoy heartfelt animal stories will also love it. I highly recommend it." Makeda Cummings, Readers' Favorite
